  • Tall and broad-shouldered, his face is like carved from stone.
  • Was Moiraine's Warder, now Warder to Myrelle.
  • Married to Nynaeve.
  • Uncrowned King of Malkier, and the last surviving of the Malkieri.
  • Called Dai shan by many.  (battle lord.)

Birgette
The Great Hunt, Chapter 47

  • Golden haired, wears her hair in elaborate braids which hang to her waist.
  • Excellent with a bow and arrow.
  • Bound to the Wheel of Time, and a hero of the horn to be born again and again when the pattern needs her.  Bound with Gaidal Cain for which she always meets and falls in love with in her different lives.  She was waiting in Tel'aran'rhiod to be born again before she was ripped out by Moghedien.
  • Elayne bonded Birgette as her Warder and saved her life after she was ripped out of T.A.R.
  • She is now known as the Lady Birgette Trahelion Captain-General of the Queen's Guard. 

Egwene al'Vere
The Eye of the World, Chapter 3

  • Amyrlin Seat to the Salidar Aes Sedai
  • Was raised from Accepted directly to Amyrlin.
  • Never chose an Ajah, or held the Oath Rod.
  • Second strongest Aes Sedai, next to Nynaeve
  • Has dark hair and eyes
  • Has the talent for dreaming, and was trained by the Aiel Wise Ones to be a Dreamwalker.
  • Was once held prisoner by Seanchan and forced to be Damane.
  • In love with Gawyn Trakand.
  • Aes Sedai who have sworn Fealty to her:

The Eye of the World, Chapte 39

  • Daughter of Morgase, and Daughter Heir of Andor.
  • Now one of the strongest Aes Sedai, next to Nynaeve.
  • One of the three women in love with Rand.
  • Red gold curly hair, and blue eyes.

Faile ni Bashere t'Aybara
The Dragon Reborn, Chapter 33

  • Tall for a woman, black hair to her shoulders, a nose that just missed being to large, generous mouth, high cheek bones, and dark tilted eyes.
  • Took the oath in Illian and became a Hunter for the Horn.
  • Faile means falcon.
  • Jealous of any woman who looks twice at Perrin, especially Berelain.
  • Married to Perrin Aybara.
  • Now a prisonor of the Shaido Aiel.

Loial Son of Arent Son of Halan
The Eye of the World, Chapter 36

    • An Ogier from Stedding Shangtai.
    • Met in Caemlyn by Rand.
    • Ninety years old in EotW, which is young for an Ogier.
    • He is ten feet tall, a nose almost as broad as his face, with eyebrows that hang down like tails, framing pale eyes as big as tea cups. Ears that poke up to tufted points through a shaggy, black mane.
    • An excellent tree singer.
    • Loves to read, always has books on him.
    • In a CoS Loial left Caihrien with an Asha'man, Karldin, to visit all the stedding to seal the Waygates.
    • He has been out of action for the past 2 books.  BRING LOIAL BACK JORDAN!!

Mat Cauthon
The Eye of the World, Chapter 1

  • One of Rand's best friends.
  • Extremely lucky, his luck is like dice spinning in his head.
  • Prophesized to marry the Daughter of the Nine Moons.
  • Blew the Horn of Valere and is now linked to it until he dies.
  • Has a fox head medallion that absorbs the One Power when directed at him.
  • He wishes he could understand women like Rand and Perrin.
  • Also has an odd spear from which he acquired in Rhuidean.  Instead of an ordinary spearhead it has a two-foot  sword blade, marked with a pair of ravens.  The blade had been made with the One Power during the War of the Shadow.  The blade will never need sharpening and never break.  Cursive script is inlaid on the black haft, punctuated at either end with a raven.  The cursive script is in the Old Tongue, and reads:
  • Thus is our treaty written; thus is agreement made.  Thought is the arrow of time; memory never fades.  What was asked is given.  The price is paid.
  • Founded the Band of the Red Hand (Shen an Calhar), after the second Aiel war.
  • His visit to the fox people in Rhuidean left him with memories of great battle leaders from different ages, thus making him an expert in battle techniques.
  • He recently came across a new ring in a CoS.  It is a dark oval of carved stone, as long as the joint of his finger.
  • Mat was buried under a collapsed wall during the Seanchan attack on Ebou Dar.  He was left out of PoD, but is very much back in Winter's Heart.

Min Farshaw
The Eye of the World, Chapter 14

  • Short hair, and likes to dress like a boy.
  • In love with Rand
  • Can see auras and images around certain people, and they tell what will happen in their near future.
  • Perhaps the nicest, and most decent acting female characters in the series.

Nynaeve al'Meara
The Eye of the World, Chapter 3

  • Was once the Wisdom of Emond's Field.
  • She is the strongest of all Aes Sedai, and has an excellent talent for Healing.
  • Very ill tempered, you can tell when she is angry when she yanks on her braid.
  • Could never channel unless she was angry.
  • After almost drowning from an attack from Moggy she broke down her block and can now channel freely.
  • She is married to Lan.
  • She healed Logain after he had been gentled, and he is just as powerful as he was before, but the same method she used did not work quite as well with Siuan and Leane, they are weaker now than when they were Aes Sedai.

Perrin Aybara (Goldeneyes)
The Eye of the World, Chapter 3

  • Another best friend of Mat and Rand.
  • Formerly a blacksmith's apprentice.
  • Curly hair and has very strong arms.
  • Has a talent for talking to Wolves which gives him a heightened sense of sight and smell.
  • Lord of the Two Rivers.
  • Married to Zarine (Faile) Bashere.
  • He wishes he could understand women like Mat and Rand.
  • The Queen of Ghealdan has sworn fealty to him.

Rand al'Thor (The Dragon Reborn, Lord of the Morning, He who comes with the Dawn, The Coramoor, etc.)
The Eye of the World, Chapter 1

  • Born on the slopes of Dragonmount the Dragon Reborn is prophesized to break the world as  Lews Therin did 3,000 years ago.
  • Father was an Aiel clan chief, and his mother was Tigraine(Shaiel) former Queen of Andor.
  • Raised in the Two Rivers by Kari and Tam al'Thor.
  • Tall with gray eyes, and a reddish tinge to his hair.
  • Referred to as stubborn or wool-headed by most of the women.
  • Two herons are branded into the palms of his hands, and dragon tatoo's encircle both of his fore-arms.
  • He wishes he could understand women like Perrin and Mat.
  • He has changed much during the series and has become very hard on the people who follow him as well as himself.  We might see a change in that in book 9.
  • Aes Sedai who have sworn fealty to him.

Thom Merrilan
The Eye of the World, Chapter 4

  • A Gleeman with a lot of secrets.
  • Master of playing Daes Dae'Mar the great game.
  • May have a thing for Moiraine and might have to rescue her according to a vision from Min.
  • Tall except for a stoop in his shoulder.
  • White hair and mustache. Blue eyes.
  • Used to be a court bard for Queen Morgase, and her lover.
  • Had a nephew named Owyn who could channel.  The Red Ajah gentled him before they took him to Tar Valon, and left him to the mercies of his neighbors.
